Older women are to be... dignified

Hi Ladies,
Today I received an email with a quote on it and this is what it said:
"God listens to our hearts rather than our lips." What a nice thought that is...
He knows our hearts and even though our lips might not speak what our heart is really thinking or feeling ...He knows the difference.
I was thinking about some of the things I say and I know that they are at times said out of love and other times out of insecurity and uncertainty. I speak hastily without checking my wording. It can be a very bad habit! How are you doing with this? Do you always "think before you speak?" Or do you expect others to know what is in your heart? I'm thinking others listening don't usually read my heart so they only have the words to go on. I can be thankful that some of them love me and are willing to overlook and forgive.
David was a man after God's own heart and he certainly was a sinful person...that gives me hope! Thank you Lord for the encouragement of the scriptures...thank you for the men and women that sinned and were still loved by you. Thank you for listening to my heart!

Swing in the new year

Happy New Year! 2010 who would have ever thought that the Lord wouldn't come by now! I remember years and years ago swinging on a cool swing in our yard in Spokane, Washington and thinking about the year 2000....I was sure something amazing would happen that year or perhaps even scary but 2000 was so far away! Now it has come and gone. Probably some very amazing and/or scary things did happen that year!
Some amazing things will happen this year too. Are you ready for them? Are you preparing for the amazing things the Lord wants to do in your life and through your life? He even has some special things planned for you in your home if you are willing.
Perhaps you have some changes you would like to make to your home, some paint, a new picture, carpet or couch. After these changes are made what will you do with your home to share it with others? Will you invite the next door neighbor over for coffee or dinner? Will you babysit some friends children so they can go out alone? Will you make special cookies with your children? Will you invite the other single girls over for an evening of games and snacks? The sky is the limit....won't you ask the Lord what He would like you to do for him in 2010 in your home? Will you make it a place of hospitality?
Maybe what you need is a swing?
